Upon clinching the 2008 title in style with a win at the final round, Richard Bradley secured the trip of a lifetime for himself and a lucky partner. Such is the calibre of the prize that the top contenders pulled out all the stops in a last ditch effort to claim it for themselves. As in all things however there can only be one winner and it was Bradley that stamped his authority, and in doing so etched his name on the championship trophy for the 3rd consecutive time. This impressive feat has seen him recently dubbed ‘King Richard III’ by his peers. A worthy title, as is that of Ulster Drift Champion!
In 2009 we can expect to see ever greater levels of competition as it is my intention to lure the best drivers from the European, British and each Irish domestic championship all to compete with the UDC. As tall an order as it may seem it is the proven degree of talent that already exists within our regular pool of drivers that will make others wish to come here and compete against the best. To be the best you have to beat the best and in 2009 the best will be at Bishopscourt, the best drift track in Ireland. Look out for updates on this hot subject!
